King Charles goes head-to-head with Meghan Markle with new product launch

A new product made on King Charles’ royal estate has hit the shelves as Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand continues to grow. The King, 75, has launched his Highgrove Royal Estate Honey, which is produced by bees on the Highgrove Estate – the private royal residence of Their Majesties. The organic honey, which costs a staggering £25 for a 350g jar, is described as “beautifully delicate” and “makes a fantastic gift for food lovers with its distinctive lime flavour”

It is the newest honey to be sold by Highgrove and is produced by pollen collected by “the myriad of bees who all live in the exclusively commissioned traditional British double-walled beehives on the estate”. The product description explains that the bees “forage on the avenues of limes” in late June to early July in Highgrove Gardens.

The monarch sells a range of preserves and savoury foods through Highgrove Shop and the money raised is donated to charity. Its latest honey launch comes after reports that the Duchess of Sussex is working on launching her first product for her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is reportedly set to be a rosé wine.

Meghan announced her new business venture in March and teased loyal fans with the news that she would be releasing a homeware collection, as well as a line of nut butters, jams and marmalades. Meghan’s trademark application also revealed she would be branching out into workout gear and dog treats, and she’s even sent her close pals – and a few select celebrities – jars of jam made from the fruit from her Montecito mansion’s garden.

She also treated some of her pet-owning pals to her line of dog treats, after her husband Prince Harry’s close friend Nacho Figueras shared a glass container of dog biscuits that were accompanied with a chic label. However, there has been no official confirmation as to when the products from American Riviera Orchard will be released.
