Bougainvillea: reproduce it endlessly with the banana trick like the nurserymen

  • A banana
  • A hacksaw
  • A clear plastic cup
  • A bag and a plastic band
  • A pair of pruning shears
  • Some soil
  • A pot with soil

Procedure for Reproducing Bougainvillea: Carrying out the process to obtain endless Bougainvillea plants is straightforward. Just follow the step-by-step instructions. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Locate a mature branch of the plant and make an incision with the hacksaw approximately 4 cm long.
  2. Remove any small leaves to have a clean branch.
  3. Cut a slice of banana and place it, along with the peel, in the middle of the incision.
  4. Open the plastic cup on one side only, make a small hole in the center, and place it on the incised branch, ensuring it closes around it.
  5. Fill the cup with well-humidified soil, ensuring the bottom is covered.
  6. Complete the operation by adding soil to the mouth, pressing it with your hands to adhere to the branch.

Afterward, take a black plastic bag, wrap it around the cup, and secure it with a plastic band. Wait for a month, then remove the band and plastic bag. As seen through the transparent cup, the roots will have emerged. Now, simply cut the branch and plant it in a pot.
