Prince Harry reveals he fled UK with Meghan Markle in fear of physical safety: ‘When my wife…’

In his upcoming memoir titled Spare, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, opens up about the decision he and Meghan Markle made to leave the United Kingdom, citing concerns over their mental health and physical safety.

The Duke reminisced about their former residence near Windsor Castle, Frogmore Cottage, describing it as initially envisioned as their forever home. However, following a poignant visit after Prince Philip’s funeral, Harry reflected, “How beautiful it all is, I thought. And also how sad.” He recounted the decision to relocate to America in January 2020, emphasizing the necessity due to fears for their well-being.

Since then, Harry has returned to the UK multiple times, most recently attending events related to the Invictus Games in London. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle, joined by their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Despite rumors suggesting a potential return to the UK, sources close to the couple have confirmed that they have no plans to acquire a new residence in the country. Vanity Fair’s Erin Vanderhoof reported, “The Prince is not looking for property in the UK.”
