Remove and Drain Excess Water:
- Take the pot out of the bucket and place it on a saucer so that excess water can drain.
- Put the pot in a large plastic bag and seal it. The goal is to ensure that moisture reaches the plant’s leaves and that the roots can become active. Leave the bag in a dark place.
- Keep a close eye on the plant inside the bag to evaluate its progress. It may take from a few hours to a couple of days, depending on the extent of the damage.
- If, after a few days, the soil is still damp but the leaves haven’t rehydrated, it might be too late to save your plant.
- To avoid a similar situation, touch the plant’s soil before watering to ensure it receives the right amount of water.
